EUMELI site
One of the objectives of the program FPO (Flux Particulaires Oceaniques) of INSU (National Institute of Science of the Universe) that
associates divers partners - among them IFREMER - is to evaluate particle fluxes of the surface ocean to the sediments at global scale.
The program EUMELI (one of the components of FPO) aims at studying three geographic zones at basin-wide scale of the tropical North-East Atlantic:
1. The high productive, eutrophic zone which is linked to the upwelling off Mauretania;
2. The oceanic, oligotrophic zone of the abyssal plain of the Cap Verdes;
3. The intermediate, mesotrophic zone of the Cap Verdes.
To get an overview about the data available in the following section, please have a look at the map and the variable/parameter profiles (.pdf document).
In order to present properly the results Ocean Data View (Reiner Schlitzer, Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research) has been applied.
Data are available as tab-delimited .txt files in ASCII format. If you have comments on that, please let me know (Nicolas Dittert, WDC-MARE).
